The Accessibility Compliance and Consulting (ACC) Group of Steven Winter Associates, Inc. is seeking an Accessibility Specialist. Based out of the firm's Norwalk, CT office, the position reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Director of the ACC Group. The Accessibility Specialist will also work closely and collaboratively with other members of the ACC Group.

Essential Functions:
Participate in all phases of the firm's accessibility-related business sector, including plan reviews, field inspections, technical assistance, remediation development, design assistance, cost estimating, and training.
Maintain familiarity and current information on:
accessibility regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Fair Housing Amendments Act, and other state and local regulations;
accessibility codes, including the International Building Code and other state and local codes;
accessibility standards and guidelines, including the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design, the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards, ANSI A117.1, and others.
Research and respond to technical inquiries concerning accessibility issues.
Research and maintain database of current products, codes, and standards related to accessibility.
Participate in meetings with project teams.

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in architecture, architectural technology, engineering, or related.
Demonstrated understanding of plan documents from early design development through construction documents preferred.
Ability to communicate highly specialized and technical information to a variety of audiences, in writing and verbally.
Organized and super detail oriented a must.
Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment required.
Working knowledge of all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
Construction and cost estimating experience preferred.
CAD experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
