Data Analytics Manager
Summary
This role will be responsible for leading, managing and executing statistical data mining techniques to provide insights into the quality of credit & risk data. The goal is to identify opportunities to apply statistical methods, their design and implementation of analytical solutions that will improve data governance standards across the company.
Responsibilities
- Proactively lead data mining initiatives to evaluate the quality of new and existing data attributes in a centralized data warehouse environment
- Develop processes to ensure consistency and accuracy of credit & risk data across portfolios
- Partner with Risk and Finance peers to consolidate and validate risk data.
- Identify opportunities to simplify & improve the risk data collection & aggregation processes
- Manage a team of data quality professionals.
- Lead platform efforts on improving data quality, implementing new requirements, closing data gaps and exceptions
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (Risk, Finance, IT, Data providers, Data Users)
- Initiate, prioritize, design & deliver high-visibility data quality evaluation projects.
- Maintain industry best practices in data governance & implementation of new data mining tools
- Communicate and document statistical analyses and findings for internal and external audiences
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 5
years of relevant work experience in Financial Services Industry
- Demonstrated experience managing high-profile, dynamic projects with multiple constituents, and involving technology development.
- Experience analyzing data with the ability to distill large amounts of information down to the critical areas of focus
- Experience in Operations Research, statistical modeling, simulation or data mining in specific domains
- Proficient with statistical software such as Matlab, R, SAS, SPSS,SQL, Excel, Business Objects
- Knowledgeable in methods for efficiently retrieving data from large relational databases such as Teradata, Oracle, or HADOOP, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate analyses to senior and executive management level
- Proven project management expertise and leadership
- Prior work experience in enterprise risk management or finance, a plus
