This position reports into the Global Audit Director, Finance & Corporate Functions and is responsible for managing a team of experienced auditors leading the audits of GE Capital's global business development area which includes overseeing all M&A and divestiture audit activities at the head office as well as coordinating all business development related work in business lines, i.e. ensures harmonized methodology, strategy, etc. (the subject areas).
Essential Responsibilities As the internal audit leader of this area, you will be responsible for the following:
Overseeing all audit activities and developing a comprehensive in-depth understanding of the subject areas;
Lead global coordination across the subject areas setting methodology, reviewing audit planning and communicating roll-up of all activity and assisting teams on a global basis with respect to business development;
Understanding the key current and emerging risks within the subject areas;
Serving as the resident subject matter expert on the subject areas;
Development of a comprehensive audit testing plans and methodologies that address the inherent risks in these activities that are in line with the CAE's and regulatory expectations;
Ensure timely completion, maintenance and execution of the annual testing plan;
Provide advice and effective challenge to internal stakeholders;
Identification of meaningful recommendations and serving as a change agent that will make an immediate impact in the subject areas. Expected to negotiate with Senior Management on matters which will have significant impacts on the areas managed;
Providing a point-of-view on GE Capital's compliance with internal policies and procedures and the regulatory expectations with respect to the subject areas;
Develop, own and manage internal audit management reporting for the subject areas for external and internal stakeholders; and
Lead and development of a continuous risk monitoring process relative to the subject areas.
Other responsibilities that will be critical to the success of this position include the following:
Delivery of services in accordance with the Department's policies and procedures;
Partnering with the Department's business, product and technology audit teams, as needed;
Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with headquarters business and functional leadership for the subject areas;
Create, manage and maintain a high performing team of domain experts and provide effective coaching and team member development for both in house and co-sourced resources;
Proactively advance integrated auditing concepts and use of technology. Closely following latest trends in own field and adapt them for application within own job and the business; and
Provide requested information to regulators and work to assess and validate examiner findings
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s Degree required; Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or related certification preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Specific experience in leading a large regulated internal audit department's Business Development activities including overseeing all M&A and divestiture activities as well as coordinating all business development related work in business lines.

Strong understanding of industry leading practices within the subject areas and the ability to apply them within the GEC organization;

Proven ability to direct personnel across multiple locations and operations and work in a matrix-type organization; proven ability to lead teams;
Possess strong project management skills, make sound decisions, and exhibit initiative and intuitive thinking. Consulted often by others for advice and opinions and recognized as a leadership role model; and
Strong oral and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
