Responsibilities of Tax Manager:
As a Tax Manager, you will play a vital role in managing and facilitating our client's tax strategies, overseeing the preparation and filing of state and federal tax forms.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing strategic tax planning for federal, state, and international taxes.
Managing the accurate and timely preparation and review of federal and state tax returns.
Preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions and coordinating external auditor reviews.
Facilitating IRS income tax audits, including responses and schedule creation.
Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicating their effects, and formulating strategies to capitalize on taxation changes.
Ensuring accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns.
Identifying domestic and international tax issues, conducting technical tax research, and participating in tax projects, including impact modeling and legal structure planning.
Preparing state tax credit applications and liaising with external tax consultants and auditors.
Managing general ledger extracts of tax-sensitive data and maintaining milestone calendars for domestic and international tax filings.
Implementing effective control procedures for the entire tax process.
Assisting with special tax projects.
Skills and Requirements of Tax Manager:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following
Qualifications:
Strong technical and research background in federal and state tax codes, US GAAP (ASC 740 and ASC 718).
Experience in international tax reporting and compliance, including the development and implementation of domestic and international tax strategies.
Proficiency in FDII, GILTI, and foreign tax credit calculations.
Familiarity with Netsuite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail, along with a demonstrated sense of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills, with experience in organizing and executing projects across various reporting lines.
Strategic thinking and leadership abilities, emphasizing relationship management and effective communication at all organizational levels.
Proven ability to perform under pressure, adapt to changing needs, and adjust plans accordingly.
Strong written and verbal English proficiency.
Education / Training of Tax Manager:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required).
CPA certification a plus!
Experience:
Five to eight (5 - 8) years of experience in top-tier public accounting firms and/or public company environment (minimum 2 years with a public company).
